Season Two of Versailles aired on March 27, 2017. It based on the history of Louis XIV of France, the next ten years of his reign and how he dealt with William of Orange and a scandalous series of murders within Versailles, the Affair of the Poisons.
Plot[]
Rohan's rebels have been crushed, courtesy of Fabien Marchal and the musketeers, and the conflict between France and Holland wages on. With Henriette dead and the Chevalier de Lorraine in exile, Philippe is distraught and refuses to return to Versailles, unfortunately, Louis is ordering him to marry the Princess Palatine to secure a German alliance. Even though the construction continues on, the King faces more problems during the expansion of Versailles, a secret organization of witches and Satanists are poisoning nobles and other guests at Versailles, and his open affair with Madame de Montespan is out of his control, bringing ire to his jealous queen.
