When Louis goes to war, Thomas goes with him and reports to William of Orange, about the King's location. Thomas almost killed again while hiding at a convent.

Once back in Versailles, Thomas continued to try and blackmail Cassel, and pursued a romantic life with Sophie de Clermont. However, unbeknownst to him, Cassel had gone to the King and informed him of Thomas' true allegiance.

When Phillipe revealed delicate information, Thomas realized he had been discovered and went to kill Cassel before fleeing the Palace with Sophie. He was surprised by Phillipe who tried to seduce then kill him, but Thomas gained the upper hand and escaped. Relationships[]

Sophie de Clermont[]

Thomas fell in love with Sophie when he first met. He revealed to her later on her mother, Béatrice, Madame de Clermont, was part of the conspiracy against King Louis.

Philippe of France[]

There really was no chemistry between Thomas Beaumont and Prince Philippe of France. Philippe was personally asked by his brother, King Louis, to get close to him after learning he was a spy for William of Orange. Since Thomas preferred the company of both men and women, that worked to Philippe's advantage, only Thomas wasn't easily fooled.

Duke of Cassel[]

Thomas blackmailed the Duke of Cassel into getting information on King Louis after revealing that he knew about his role in the conspiracy while seeing his wife, Sophie de Clermont. He lost his hold upon the Duke of Cassel after he confessed his role in the conspiracy to the king and pinned Thomas as a spy.
